Summary:
We are a group of residents, taxpayers and parents in DeKalb County, GA, a suburban county in metro Atlanta. We were formed in 2011 when our local school board voted to lease public school land for the placement of dangerous cell phone towers at 12 schools in the middle of residential areas as an alternate revenue stream without public input or following zoning ordinances. We have successfully stopped the cell towers and worked for countywide unity in order to keep our children safe and our schools free from this commercial intrusion. We hope that by sharing what we have learned, we can inspire and help others who may be facing a similar situation in their own community.
